Analyst - Fidelity Investments
Boston, MA - June 2015 to October 2016
I worked at Fidelity Investments in Enterprise Infrastructure, on the Core Operations Research team. My experience was analyzing and cleaning datasets using R. I also developed Tableau Dashboards to help various departments in Enterprise Infrastructure, ranging from agile training teams to KPI management teams. In regards to research, I learned more about data mining machine learning algorithms. I used the K-Means algorithm for clustering data, as well as ARIMA modelling for predicting server use. I am very interested in data, and the different ways its analysis benefits the organization.
Program Manager - Rochester Institute of Technology
Rochester, NY - January 2015 to May 2015
As a Program Manager in the Simone Center for Innovation at the Rochester Institute of Technology, I worked primarily on their Salesforce database. I imported data from previously used excel spreadsheets and set up email reminders for students involved with the Innovation Center. After discussions with the management at the Simone Center, we worked together to set a standard for data stored in Salesforce. I also worked to recruit students for the entrepreneurship minor, which gives students an opportunity to work on their own personal ventures through the Simone Center.
Product Manager Co-op - Intuit, Inc.
Mountain View, CA - June 2014 to December 2014
My Product Management Co-op at Intuit took place in Mountain View, California. In the heart of Silicon Valley, this was an incredible experience. I worked in the Intuit Developer Organization within QuickBooks Online, primarily on the Developer Experience team. As a product manager, I worked to balance quality with feature development. Although developing all the new and best features for a service is important, I believe quality should be top priority. Throughout my experience here, I learned how to prioritize bugs in JIRA by meeting with QA teams. We created a list of the top bugs to tackle for each upcoming sprint, quickly assigning them to different QA’s.
Data Analyst Co-op - Intuit, Inc.
San Diego, CA - January 2014 to June 2014
My Data Analyst Co-op at Intuit took place in San Diego, California. This was a great experience, in which I learned about the Care Organization with Intuit’s TurboTax. I was tasked with creating Tableau dashboards for product teams. In a way I acted as a mini data scrum team. I gathered requirements from stakeholders, designed and developed dashboards, and then presented to stakeholders and obtained feedback for improvement. I enjoyed this support role, as many people used, and still use my dashboards today. Giving management the ability to view data how they need gives the powerful insight to the health of their organization. I’m fortunate I had the opportunity to work for TurboTax’s Care Organization.
Business Analyst - The Student IT Office
Rochester, NY - May 2013 to December 2013
This position was my first exposure to general software development. I worked on a small, pilot start up called SITO, or the Student IT Office. With a team of four, I worked to benefit the underserved organization at Rochester Institute of Technology. I assumed the role of Business Analyst on our team, and worked with stakeholders to understand requirements for software projects we undertook. One project was TeamBuilder, which is a web application used to share innovative projects and to allow individuals to form project development teams. By meeting with stakeholders for requirements gathering and rapidly iterating our design, we created a valuable service that is still used today.
